Another magical Thanksgiving was spent with my family in Greenville and then in our favorite place, Boone, NC! We had two Thanksgiving meals with PLENTY of leftovers.
What I love doing most with the leftover turkey bones is simmering them for several hours with a mixture of onion, garlic, celery, carrots, cilantro, green onion, any other veggies that are fitting for a soup and then adding noodles at the very end for a hearty and creamy soup that absolutely warms the soul. We have plenty of broth leftover to fill the cold nights with plenty of warm soup.
The best part of this time of year is how I can really make use of all the scarves and hats that are stashed away for the majority of the year (compliments of living in the South). Being in the mountains, I knew there would be a brisker feel and came prepared with my trusty wools and warm layers.
I haven’t had many chances to take advantage of this precious green beret and so I was more than happy to break it out for a trip to Blowing Rock. I have promised myself that I will wear this the moment I get the chance to venture to Paris (one of my lifelong dreams!)
This Black Friday was spent relaxing and then venturing out to Blowing Rock to get some fresh air and to look at the cute little shops and try to get some inspiration. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family! I’m sad Thanksgiving is over but am so excited for the festivities coming soon for Christmas and the New Year!
