Hi lovely people, can you believe that Christmas is a short two weeks away?!
You guys already know how the holidays are and have probably consumed at least a little bit of sugar the past few days (or weeks) … No worries, I’m sitting here with a nice hot chocolate in my hand, this is absolutely the season where the sugar is pretty hard to avoid!
My brother is in dental school and I thought it would be so fun to have him come on the blog and offer five easy tips for taking care of your teeth this holiday season, especially with all the sugar that is consumed! So, here they are…
5 Tips for Taking Care of Your Teeth
-
Make sure you brush your teeth for 2 minutes a day
Most electric toothbrushes will have timers in them to help you keep track of how long you’ve been brushing! -
Make sure you floss every time you brush your teeth
-
Make sure you use a toothpaste that has fluoride in it. Fluoride is a key component in helping to prevent cavities.
-
Make sure you brush all surfaces of your teeth, including the inside and outside portions as well as your tongue.
-
If possible, try not to rinse after brushing because the fluoride left on your teeth has a greater effect if allowed to stay there. Since not rinsing after is hard, try using a smaller amount of toothpaste when you brush. A pea sized amount is all you need.
The Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9500 Rechargeable Toothbrush was named one of Oprah’s Favorite things in 2017, and I had the chance to try a DiamondClean Smart for myself. It’s the perfect stocking stuffer and I got one for my hubby. He’s been jealous of my electric toothbrush so I’m so excited to gift one to him this season!
(Hover over the image above to easily shop the toothbrush! Or you can click on the tags to get to the toothbrush easily!)
The Philips Sonicare DiamondClean is the best toothbrush for complete oral care. Excuse me while I go into full nerd mode but seriously it has 4 different brushing modes and 3 intensities so that you can tailor your toothbrushing experience to your tooth and gum needs. There’s even a Sonicare app that you can connect with in real-time to get feedback and personalized coaching.
You can get the toothbrush easily off of Amazon (Shout-out to all my peeps who have Prime, how many times has that saved your life?!) You can order now and still get it in time for Christmas for your loved ones!
And now.. a little tutorial to make your toothbrush a million times cuter stuffed in the stocking!
