Now that it is December, it was time to change out my fall tablescape for one that was more fitting for the winter and Christmas! This was so so easy to do, the first step is to get your pine branches from a nearby christmas tree farm or vendor. They are always trimming their Christmas trees and giving away the trimmings for free. There is SO much you can do with the trimmings (i.e, make a garland, a wreath, tablescape decor, etc).
Cut the branches with a reliable pair of shears and line the table with your trimmed pine. Your table will smell lovely and look just was wonderful!
Now, I’m the type of girl that will have christmas lights hanging all year so when it comes to Christmas time, I go a little overboard… I decided to have some Christmas lights hanging over our dining table so that we could eat dinner with warmer lighting. It’s amazing the difference that it can make! I can’t wait to have a candlelit dinner with my hubby under the lights one of these nights!
I decided to make the centerpiece a simple arrangement of pine and holly. This is something that you can put all around your home to place little pops of Christmas!
The gold garland was just a little addition I made because we had some leftover that didn’t go on our Christmas tree this year. I love how the pine, holly, and gold chargers all come together to really bring a glamorous tablescape in such a simple way.
The little sprig of pine on top of the plate is just the cutest little thing isn’t it?! When guests come over, the pine will be sitting on top of a napkin for them!
Do you decorate your table differently for the holidays? I’d love to hear what you do to make your dinner table special!
